Cover cropping is one of the best passive improvements you can make to your gardening practices.  Allowing gardens to sit barren has a series of negative impacts on the soil and environment.  Using cover crops can improve soil health, prevent erosion, add organic matter, attract pollinators, promote and feed your soil biology, increase tilth, sequester atmospheric carbon, and suppress weeds!
All of our cover crops are untreated and non-GMO.

Variety: Winter Barley
Winter Barley performs similarly to other cereal grains in that it is great for weed suppression, erosion prevention, soil building, etc... Extensive root systems help support mycorrhizae and improve tilth.
Application Rate:
2-3 lbs per 1,000 sq ft
