This White Labs strain is best used for German ales like kölsch and altbier. Originating from a small brewpub in Cologne, Germany, this strain is known for creating crisp, clean lager-like characters, while accentuating hop flavor and bitterness. This performs especially well at temperatures ranging from 65 to 69°F and does not ferment well below 62°F after peak fermentation. Usually has low flocculation characteristics after the first generation.
