Turkey Tails are easily identified by their multicolored pattern and affinity for hardwoods. They are not technically edible due to their tough nature, but they can be turned into a powder or boiled for tincture production. |
Flavor: Tough, but sweet, better powdered.
Wood Types/Mediums: Hardwood and other logs: lder, ash, aspen, beech, birch, chestnut, elm, eucalyptus, hickory, honey locust, maple, oak, plum, poplar, sweetgum, pecan, walnut, ironwood, cherry. Soon when we get the right strain also douglas fir, fir, pinon pine, spruce.
Fruiting Conditions: 70F - Wild fruiting typically late summer and persisting all winter.
Package contains ~100 inoculated plugs by weight.
