Lion's Mane mushrooms (Hericium sp) are known for their incredibly unique appearance and the fact that their flavor bears a marked resemblance to crab or lobster meat! The 'Pom Pom' varietal is identical to other species of Lion's Mane in flavor but differs slightly in the appearance. 'Pom Pom' fruits as a single round ball with a more even spination than other varieties. Have a shellfish allergy but want to experience the coast? Try Lion's Mane!

Lion's Mane is one of our favorite mushrooms for culinary purposes! The flavor is almost unmatched and bears a remarkable resemblance to crab or lobster meat! Sauté in butter, bread and fry, on their own or in a dish. Can't go wrong with Lion's Mane!
Fruiting Temperatures/Conditions
The Lion's mane prefers a fruiting temp of 50-65˚F.

Grows well on the following logs and stumps: oak, black walnut, beech, elm, cherry, or maple
